I’ve been feeling really flat lately, in a low energy funk, for too many reasons to mention- to name a few...im 6 weeks pregnant and riding waves of nausea, thyroid imbalances, we are in month 6 of the Covid pandemic which brings a collective anxiety, anger, uneasyness as well as a disconnection from so many we love and the deprivation of our usual social and fun outlets. The heaviness and sadness of the horrific realities of racism, human trafficking, a narcissistic president, gynosism, xenophobie etc etc etc is hard on all of us. There is an underlying rage felt- how could people be so cruel and so unjust? Why is it so hard to create a more peaceful and loving world where we treat one another and the earth with love, respect and kindness?
Although it is needed and is healthy to bring awareness to, feel and release these heavy emotions, it also isn’t healthy to allow ourselves to be consumed by them. Nature, nourishing movement and mindfulness to find peace in presence has been my saving grace to reconnect to myself, feel rooted and feel joy.
I just got back from a surf session with my dear husband which reignited a spark in me! Immersed in nature, no responsibilities, no giving to others, no media….pure lightness, glassy long lefts, dancing on water, feeling in FLOW with life, myself and mother earth. I feel ALIVE again! I can now take that energy into all that I do and share with those around me. When i tap into this aliveness, i can naturally create more of these experiences to fuel the feeling. We plan to camp in mammoth and visit Yosemite in the coming months to tap into the gifts that nature offers- and what is so pure, so real and so cleansing.
What is it that makes you feel most alive?

“We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our own minds. We get lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating - lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems.
We have forgotten what rocks, plants, and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be - to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is: Here and Now.”
—Eckhart Tolle
