Be-Do-Have

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”

—Marianne Williamson

We are human ‘BEings’ not human ‘doings’ or human ‘havings’ yet we live in a Society that so often defines us by what we do and what we have. I Feel empowered when I remember my ability to choose to BE the being behind the doing. To choose what messages I listen to and absorb and choose to ignore the bullshit about the “shoulds of life” that our society and media attempts to ingrain in us. The roles we are “supposed” to play as men, women, moms, dads etc- it’s all labels and conditioning. Lately I’ve been focusing on unlearning the programmed roles and timelines and detaching from the conditioned mind. Instead I practice tuning in and  listening to my heart and soul speak. When I am the BEing behind the doing, I can more gracefully create the life I deeply desire. When I am loving and compassionate towards myself and others and  when I prioritize and set intentions based on who I want to BE, the doing and the having seem to flow naturally.
